Upcoming Important Dates to Remember:
Skills Assessment Due Friday, May 18th! Skills Quiz Friday May 18th NWEA Testing May 23rd & 24th A Note Regarding Skills Assessments in all 8th Grade Math Classes: Parents, The Skills Assessments your student will complete this year will be done in an online format through Khan Academy. Here are the essential things to know: 1. Each skills assessment will require students to complete 5 online activities. WE REQUIRE THAT STUDENTS MUST GET A 100% ON THE ACTIVITY IN ORDER TO EARN CREDIT. 2. There is no limit to the number of tries a student can have to complete each activity. Thus, it should be much easier for any student to get 100% on their skills assessment. 3. The only limitation to a student getting a 100% is the due date, which remains unchanged. After the due date, further progress on an earlier activity will not be counted. 4. All activities include a “get a hint” feature as well as an instructional video on how to solve each problem. Please be aware that these activities must be completed online. If internet access is an issue, students can attend morning help (in the library beginning at 7:15 every morning), or they can see us during lunch or T2R to work out a time to have access. The web address for Khan Academy is www.khanacademy.org students will have set up their own accounts Friday. Nov. 6 in class and will have been given a tutorial on how the site works. Sincerely, Mr. Kueppers and Mrs. Zimmerman Math Help is ALWAYS Available:
